Copper-green bud vase (2)
Sold out£35.00
My copper-green and white range is inspired by the colours of Ullswater from one of my favourite swimming spots. On a breezy, cool day, white and green are the two primary sources of colour - the white surf on the water, the bleached, pale sky above and the green band of trees and fields on the opposite shore.
This large, stoneware bud-vase is glazed in white and decorated in free-hand green and black swirls. They have a narrow opening of around 1cm, suitable for a single artfully placed stem.
I use copper oxides in the decoration to achieve rich greens and dark browns to black. Although copper wasn't specifically mined near Ullswater, the Lake District has a history of copper mining at Coniston.
Approximate dimensions - diameter 9cm, height, 10cm.
